5 Tips For When You Go Camping

Every year, my family and I are going to camp in a hot country. It is way cheaper than a hotel and I think it is also more fun. Throughout the years I have quite learned what to take and what not. Of course you don’t need this stuff and you don’t have to do the things that I listed to go camping, but they are quite handy to take with you and basically make your life at that moment a little bit more comfortable.

– 1: Mosquito Spray
As far as I know most people don’t like being awakened by mosquitoes neither they like being bitten by mosquitoes. And at some campsites there are loads of different kinds annoying bugs and mosquitoes. You do wanna be protected and not interesting for those animals, right?

– 2: Toilet Paper Rolls
You never know if you need it or not, but I have experienced that at most campsites at the end of the day, they have no toilet paper left. So I think it is a good idea to bring your own toilet paper. Something else I take with me for after toilet use is a small soap or cleansing tissues for my hands because I don’t like the feeling of having gross hands, since toilets aren’t always the cleanest.

– 3: Water In Bottles
I never try to drink water out of a tap in a foreign country, because my intestines aren’t liking water that much then. So another tip is to just take water in bottles with you or just go and buy water in bottles at a shop because it’s way better for you than drinking from a tap where you don’t exactly know what’s in the water..

– 4: Air Beds
Make sure your air beds are working. If you have some experiences with campsites like I do, you probably already know this. You should definitely make sure that there are no leaks in your air mattress. No one likes waking up in the middle of the night because you are laying on the hard cold ground. And if you can, you should take a repair kit with you, just in case.

– 5: Food
When we go camping, we always take our own food with us. Of course, there are shops and we will go there to buy food anyway but my family likes to cook at our own place where our tent is, because this is also cheaper than going out to a restaurant for dinner, lunch and breakfast. What we usually do is, we go to the shop in the morning so it’s not too hot yet, then we will have food for our lunch and dinner. We buy enough food so that the next day we will still have some leftover food for breakfast, and then we will go to the supermarket again.  For dinner, most of the times we cook something easy like macaroni or soup.

So these were my tips for when you go on a camping trip. I love camping because it’s kind of easier to make contact with your neighbours than if you were in an appartement or if you were in a hotel. It is also nice to meet new people at the ‘wifi-space’ since there ALWAYS will be people there. Meeting new people is scary, but it also could turn out as your best holiday ever! Thank you for reading and until next week!
